3. No Consumer Reporting Agency
This reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 et seq. The text here and any output from a linked tool is not a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.
4. Outside Services and Privacy
County and state portals, courts, libraries, archives, sponsored search boxes, and other outside services set their own terms, prices, availability, and data practices. California’s Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, is codified in Civil Code section 1798.100 et seq. Where it applies to an outside provider, that provider’s policy controls the information submitted there.
5. No Promise of Accuracy
The pages are supplied “as is” and “as available,” without a warranty of any kind. No promise is made that a statement, fee, link, office detail, coverage date, or portal result is complete, current, or error-free. Confirm a record with its custodian before relying on it.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not responsible for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of these pages or an outside resource. That includes an action or decision based on information found through a linked record source.
7. Your Responsibility to Protect the Operators
You agree to indemnify and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorney fees, that results from your misuse of the reference or violation of these terms.
8. Copyright and Site Material
The original writing, logo, layout, and design are protected by copyright. Brief quotations with attribution and ordinary links are welcome. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not permitted without permission.
9. Revisions
The operators may change these terms by posting a revised version here. Continued use after a revision means that the updated terms are accepted.
10. Restricting Access
Access may be blocked or limited when a user violates these terms, abuses a linked service, or threatens the operation or security of the reference. The operators may take that action without advance notice.
11. California Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without applying conflict-of-law principles. Public-record access discussed in the reference is governed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000-7931.000. The statute does not make this private reference a records custodian and does not require a government office to create a new record.
12. Severability
If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
